Frequently Asked Questions

Holistic baby sleep consultant Keri Rock working on a laptop in a bright kitchen, providing expert sleep advice and support for parents.
  • I am a Certified Sleep Consultant (Sleep Nanny™) with additional specialist training that allows me to support families in a holistic, developmentally appropriate way. I am a FEDANT-accredited Antenatal & Postnatal Educator through Modern Antenatal Revolution, a Specialist in Special Needs & Sleep with the Institute of Paediatric Sleep, and a Holistic Health Coach trained by the Institute of Integrative Nutrition. This combination means I consider sleep alongside feeding, development, health, and emotional wellbeing rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach.

  • The difference lies in looking beyond routines or techniques alone. The REST Method™ offers a holistic approach that considers your child’s sleep biology, emotional needs, temperament, environment, and daily rhythm together. Parents are supported just as much as children, helping sleep changes feel sustainable and aligned with family values.

  • Yes, this work is informed by sleep science, child development research, and attachment theory, alongside extensive practical experience. Evidence is applied with care and context, recognising that families need guidance that works in real life.

  • The R.E.S.T Method™ is a calm, evidence-based sleep framework I developed to support babies and young children without rigid schedules or pressure. R.E.S.T stands for Respond, Encourage, Settle, and Teach, reflecting a structured yet flexible approach that adapts as your child grows.

  • I provide a service that consists of assessment, education, and ongoing support. I cannot control how this information is applied, so I cannot guarantee specific outcomes. I do guarantee satisfaction with the quality of my consultation and recommendations, with results ultimately depending on implementation.

  • 100% of the families I work with achieve the results they are looking for when they consistently implement the strategies taught. Success looks different for every family and is always defined collaboratively, based on what feels realistic and supportive for your child and household.

  • I support families from birth through to early childhood, typically up to around 6 years old. This includes newborn sleep foundations, infant sleep challenges, toddler sleep struggles, and early childhood transitions such as dropping naps, bedtime resistance, and early morning waking. Support is always tailored to your child’s developmental stage and temperament rather than age alone.

  • I support families across Wales, throughout the UK, and online worldwide, helping babies and young children sleep more peacefully while respecting each family’s values. My work has been recognised with the Children’s Health Consultant of the Year award by the Prestige Awards, reflecting my experience and dedication to supporting families through these challenging early years.

  • Yes, newborn sleep support is a core part of my work. Rather than focusing on training or schedules, support centres on helping you understand what normal newborn sleep looks like, how to recognise sleep cues, gently shape day and night rhythms, and protect your own rest in the early weeks. This creates calm foundations without pressure or unrealistic expectations.

  • Yes, toddler sleep is supported with a gentle, developmentally appropriate approach. Toddlers often experience sleep disruption due to emotional development, separation awareness, boundary testing, and changing sleep needs. Support focuses on consistency, reassurance, and clear structure without power struggles or distress.

  • Yes, sleep support is adapted thoughtfully for children with additional needs, sensory sensitivities, or neurodivergent profiles. Flexibility and individual understanding are central to the approach.

  • I offer holistic sleep training, my work does not use traditional sleep training methods such as controlled crying or cry-it-out. The approach is gentle and responsive, supporting sleep through understanding, connection, and consistency rather than leaving children to manage distress alone.

  • All babies and young children cry — it is how they communicate. Anyone claiming “no-cry sleep training” is suggesting that a baby stops communicating, which is neither realistic nor responsive. My approach focuses on understanding what your baby’s cries mean and responding appropriately, so no cries are ignored.

  • Yes, sleep often improves more sustainably when rhythm replaces rigidity. Supporting sleep pressure, routines, and environment in a flexible way allows babies and children to settle more naturally without the stress of strict clock-watching.

  • Yes, feeding to sleep is biologically normal, particularly in babies. Rather than treating it as a problem, we look at whether it continues to support sleep for your family. If changes are needed, they are introduced gently and respectfully.

  • Some sleep challenges can improve in as little as 1–3 nights, while others take 4–6 weeks. Most families notice significant improvement within the first 7–10 days. The speed of progress depends on several factors, particularly consistency, and this will be discussed during your consultation to set realistic expectations.

  • A free sleep discovery call is the best starting point if you’re unsure. This allows us to talk through your child’s sleep, your concerns, and which level of support would be most appropriate.

  • Sleep support works when the guidance provided is implemented consistently. The only thing that may prevent progress is inconsistency, which is completely understandable during illness, travel, or major life changes. Even if progress pauses, you will still have the knowledge and tools to restart when you are ready. If I identify any reason your child may need a different type of support, such as medical input, this will be disclosed after reviewing your intake form.

  • Yes, many families come to this work after trying other approaches that did not feel right or did not lead to lasting change. The REST Method™ provides a gentle reset, helping families rebuild confidence and move forward with clarity and reassurance.

  • Pricing varies depending on the level of support you choose. Options range from digital guides and masterclasses to group coaching and high-touch 1:1 support. All pricing is listed clearly on individual service pages so families can choose what feels right.

  • The only free resource I offer is the discovery call for families considering 1:1 support, designed to help families understand my approach before committing to coaching.

  • Yes, although I am based in the UK, I can work with families worldwide. All support is delivered online, making it accessible regardless of location. Guidance is adapted to suit your family’s culture, routines, and time zone while remaining grounded in universal sleep biology.
